The Opila crystal could be found in the asteroids of the Fyrth system and were used by the Jedi Knights as the focusing crystal of their lightsaber blades. When used in lightsaber construction, the Jedi discovered that an Opila crystal produced a blade that cut through materials especially quickly. The Jedi also discovered that an Opila crystal could be refined and cleansed of impurities to form what was known as a Jenraux crystal.
